The Ghosts of Craig Glas Castle is a new adventure for Flora and Archie, who we first met in The House on March Lane. Full review can be found on The Letterpress Project's website: https://www.letterpressproject.co.uk/inspiring-young-readers/2023-02-28/the-ghosts-of-craig-glas-castle
This is a very enjoyable ghost story that will be loved by middle school children from 9 to 13 years. It is about a boy and a girl who stay in a castle in Wales with their antique dealer father, and encounter ghosts of people who lived there in the last century. They meet the ghosts of a previous owner and her servants who have unfinished business there and secrets to reveal. The previous owner of the castle was a lovely woman who loved beautiful things around her and was kind to her servants, but unfortunately made a disastrous marriage to a horrible man who did not love her or the castle. He deceived her and just wanted her money and to sell the castle and turn the servants out. After the marriage when his wife discovered his true nature, she hid her most precious treasure with a very important secret so he would not discover it. The ghosts of the castle appear to Archie and Flora whose help they need to reveal their secrets from the past and their story which can save the castle in the present day. I highly recommend this book which is so much fun, and easy to read.
